Day 211 (July 30)

Daniel and Emily came over for Moo Goo Gai Pan tonight. While we were figuring out dinner, we saw this little guy running around our yard. Random much?? The weirdest animals seem to show up at this house... pigs, chickens, goats, turtles, and crazy drunks.

Day 210 (July 29)

I'm loving the scattered showers we're having this week! LOVE it! I'm glad it cleared up this evening though because Josh and I went and picked up Glenda and Keith from the airport. They'd been in Ukraine visiting Angie, Michael, and the kids!
Here's the sky during my lunch break.

Day 209 (July 28)

Had to go to Walmart... which is right next to the stupid Cowboys' Shrine. Kinda weird that the stadium is so accessible though. Usually they're set back from everything. Whatever. I still don't like it!

Day 208 (July 27)

Just a project Mom and I were working on until she left for Jersey today. I'm on my own now! Yikes!

Day 207 (July 26)

Music night! This is Lauren, me, and Katie playing around. I had just taught them to play "Shifting Sand" by Caedmon's Call.

Day 206 (July 25)

One of my favorite roads in the area. It's just so pretty!

Day 205 (July 24)

I made quinoa (KEEN-wa) tonight for the first time. I'd always been intrigued by it! It was different for sure! Apparently you're supposed to wash it before cooking it because it has a bitter shell. Yeah, this I didn't know. It was still good though, but I imagine it'll be better next time when I wash it first!

Day 204 (July 23)

It's pretty sad that we had to do this. People are stealing coffee supplies right and left up here. We put out one of those big coffee canisters last night after 5:00 and by 9:00 AM this morning, it was gone. Yeah, right! This has been going on for awhile so we hope this deters it a bit.

Day 203 (July 22)

Mom and I looked at houses on Realtor.com last night for Daniel and Emily. We found the perfect one for them.

Day 202 (July 21)

Our Sunday school class is reading through Same Kind of Different as Me. In August, we're going to all get together and talk about it (with Ron Hall there!!) I read the book a while back but Josh went and got a copy tonight so he could start reading it.

Day 201 (July 20)

It was a looooong day so we just crashed on the couch and watched The Bachelorette: Men tell all.

Day 200 (July 19)

Here's mom blow drying the dining room wall. She was finishing up the painting in there and wanted to see how it looked dry! It looks SO much better than it did!

Day 199 (July 18)

We got a tree for my parents' front yard today. The boys were digging up the big hole and spraying it down with the hose while they were doing it. It made an awesome mud pit and I just couldn't resist. I don't think Josh was as amused as I was!

Day 198 (July 17)

Someone apparently thought it'd be funny to egg all our cars last night. They got 4 out of the 6 cars here. NOT happy about that! I guess at least we should be thankful they didn't break in...

Day 197 (July 16)

This is a HORRIBLE picture of us, but oh well... Emily and I met up for dinner at Souper Salad

Day 196 (July 15)

Carrie played dress-up. She was getting all dolled up in 50's garb.

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

Day 195 (July 14)

I watched Madea Goes to Jail with my mom. Dad and Josh went upstairs to watch the All-Stars game instead! The movie was actually pretty cute.

Day 194 (July 13)

Check out this dude I drove past on my way home. I wish I could've gotten a better picture, but I didn't want to be too obvious. If you look real close, you'll see the big old stogie sticking out of his mouth. He's hardcore!

Day 193 (July 12)

This is the only picture I took today so, much to my dismay, I guess I need to post it. Carrie let me borrow her (my old) painting pants. I felt the need to showcase the Urkelness of them.

Day 192 (July 11)

Tearing down the lovely border in my parent's dining room.
Also if there was ever any doubt that I was a huge nerd growing up, just check out this gem in between all the paint samples (of which we chose none):

I'm on the right. I wish I still had that bow....

Day 191 (July 10)

We went to Taste of Europe tonight with Daniel, Emily and Carrie. Yum!

Day 190 (July 9)

My dad pulled out the Old Sea Mist! He and Carrie took it down to the lake for a few minutes in the evening. I wanted to go, but couldn't this time :( There wasn't much wind anyway, and wind is kind of important when you're sailing. Hopefully soon we'll get to go out on the lake!

Wednesday, July 8, 2009

Day 189 (July 8)

Today is Emily's Out-Of-The-Womb day, so to celebrate, we all went to Camp Verde for dinner. Cinco Cinco Nachos anyone?! Yum!

Tuesday, July 7, 2009

Day 188 (July 7)

Dad is building a pretty wooden surfboard. Here's one of the fin thingies

Day 187 (July 6)

Sitting at the train on my way home from Bible study...

Day 186 (July 5)

Somehow, Carrie has never seen Office Space so tonight we introduced her to greatness.

Day 185 (July 4)

This little girl and her grandad (or so I assume) were near us at the parade that morning. They were just so sweet that I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures.

Day 184 (July 3)

We walked down to the Levitt Pavilion in downtown Arlington for their July 4th (on the 3rd) thing. Just one of the benefits of living where we do right now! Anyway, while we were listening to the music, this woman sitting next to us befriended us. It was HILARIOUS!!! I loved it, but poor Josh was stuck in the middle. She had quite the life story, and believe me, we heard it ALL!

She has a step-daughter that they stuck in Happy Hill because "she didn't want to learn no more and thunk she knew it all". They put the daughter in nice clothes and got her all dressed up, "ya know, in nice clothes, like from Ross" and they registered her at HH Farm. Everything, all them nice clothes, fit in two duffel bags. While they were checking her in, this lady said she went into the gym and got a basketball. She went to center court, took off her glasses (because that's how she learned to shoot, with no glasses, she can't shoot with her glasses, but has to take them off, because that's how she learned...and she showed us how she took her glasses off) And she sunk that ball. "whoosh". (complete with spit flecks as she said 'whoosh').

There was a lot more, but that's the major stuff. It's probably one of those "had to be there" kinda things, but I'm blogging it so I don't forget about it or her! She was a complete nut (crack?)head, but was nice and was probably having the time of her life!

She was quite a character to say the least

Day 183 (July 2)

My pretty Juliet!

Day 182 (July 1)

I just thought this card was funny

Day 181 (June 30)

This is one of the houses we saw Tuesday night. It would need a TON of work, but could be a really awesome house. This is looking at the back of the house. Down behind me is a pool and a pool house. It sits on almost a half acre and is RIGHT by the lake.

Day 180 (June 29)

I went to Starbucks to finish up my week of Esther before heading to Bible study at 7:00

Day 179 (June 28)

This is the card Carrie and I got for Jenn and Michael's wedding shower. Love it.
