Daniel and Emily came over for Moo Goo Gai Pan tonight. While we were figuring out dinner, we saw this little guy running around our yard. Random much?? The weirdest animals seem to show up at this house... pigs, chickens, goats, turtles, and crazy drunks.

Day 205 (July 24)
I made quinoa (KEEN-wa) tonight for the first time. I'd always been intrigued by it! It was different for sure! Apparently you're supposed to wash it before cooking it because it has a bitter shell. Yeah, this I didn't know. It was still good though, but I imagine it'll be better next time when I wash it first!

Day 202 (July 21)
Our Sunday school class is reading through Same Kind of Different as Me. In August, we're going to all get together and talk about it (with Ron Hall there!!) I read the book a while back but Josh went and got a copy tonight so he could start reading it.

Day 199 (July 18)
We got a tree for my parents' front yard today. The boys were digging up the big hole and spraying it down with the hose while they were doing it. It made an awesome mud pit and I just couldn't resist. I don't think Josh was as amused as I was!

Day 195 (July 14)
I watched Madea Goes to Jail with my mom. Dad and Josh went upstairs to watch the All-Stars game instead! The movie was actually pretty cute.

Day 194 (July 13)
Check out this dude I drove past on my way home. I wish I could've gotten a better picture, but I didn't want to be too obvious. If you look real close, you'll see the big old stogie sticking out of his mouth. He's hardcore!

Day 193 (July 12)
This is the only picture I took today so, much to my dismay, I guess I need to post it. Carrie let me borrow her (my old) painting pants. I felt the need to showcase the Urkelness of them.

Day 190 (July 9)
My dad pulled out the Old Sea Mist! He and Carrie took it down to the lake for a few minutes in the evening. I wanted to go, but couldn't this time :( There wasn't much wind anyway, and wind is kind of important when you're sailing. Hopefully soon we'll get to go out on the lake!

Day 189 (July 8)
Today is Emily's Out-Of-The-Womb day, so to celebrate, we all went to Camp Verde for dinner. Cinco Cinco Nachos anyone?! Yum!

Day 185 (July 4)
This little girl and her grandad (or so I assume) were near us at the parade that morning. They were just so sweet that I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures.

Day 184 (July 3)
We walked down to the Levitt Pavilion in downtown Arlington for their July 4th (on the 3rd) thing. Just one of the benefits of living where we do right now! Anyway, while we were listening to the music, this woman sitting next to us befriended us. It was HILARIOUS!!! I loved it, but poor Josh was stuck in the middle. She had quite the life story, and believe me, we heard it ALL!
She has a step-daughter that they stuck in Happy Hill because "she didn't want to learn no more and thunk she knew it all". They put the daughter in nice clothes and got her all dressed up, "ya know, in nice clothes, like from Ross" and they registered her at HH Farm. Everything, all them nice clothes, fit in two duffel bags. While they were checking her in, this lady said she went into the gym and got a basketball. She went to center court, took off her glasses (because that's how she learned to shoot, with no glasses, she can't shoot with her glasses, but has to take them off, because that's how she learned...and she showed us how she took her glasses off) And she sunk that ball. "whoosh". (complete with spit flecks as she said 'whoosh').
There was a lot more, but that's the major stuff. It's probably one of those "had to be there" kinda things, but I'm blogging it so I don't forget about it or her! She was a complete nut (crack?)head, but was nice and was probably having the time of her life!
She was quite a character to say the least

Day 181 (June 30)
This is one of the houses we saw Tuesday night. It would need a TON of work, but could be a really awesome house. This is looking at the back of the house. Down behind me is a pool and a pool house. It sits on almost a half acre and is RIGHT by the lake.
