Day 272 (September 29)

I came home from work sick today. Emily has also been sick so she came over for a bit and we watched The Trouble With Angels. Great old movie!
This is Carrie in her La Mad get-up. She started working there today!

Day 271 (September 28)

I spent the evening fighting with my computer trying to get Winfield pictures uploaded to Blogger.

Day 270 (September 27)

I finally sat down long enough to re-do some of my recipe books. They were starting to fall apart on me so I reorganized them and got new binders. MUCH better! I still want to do a little more in regards to organization within each book, but I haven't made it that far yet.

Day 269 (September 26)

Josh and I ran out to Grapevine Mills with Carrie this morning. She needed to get a bunch of black clothes because she just landed a job at La Madeleine! I hope she's able to bring home food ;) We saw these jeans in J. Crew. Finally a store that calls them what they are!! You really DO have to be a toothpick to fit in these!

I also made homemade cinnamon rolls for our Sunday school class tomorrow. These are my favorite! Yum!

Day 268 (September 25)

It was a Red Box kinda night. We rented Gran Torino. Really good movie

Day 267 (September 24)

Carrie and I started the 30 Day Shred. Naturally, we got into character!

Day 266 (September 23)

Happy birthday, Carrie!
Here's Carrie blowing out her invisible candles.

Here's Carrie's birthday present from me and Ashlee!

Day 265 (September 22)

Look at the size of this grape!!

Day 264 (September 21)

Dad and I playing around on the guitar. I'm trying to master finger picking and just as soon as I would get it right and get excited, I would screw up. So, we're laughing about it here in this picture.

Day 263 (September 20)

Last day at Winfield. So sad!!! It was one of the best years in awhile so I was super sad to leave. Anyway, this is a picture of me and sweaty dad (he'd just taken down his tent) in our t-shirts. Typically, people at the WV Fest are incredibly liberal and loud mouthed so we made shirts to get our say in. Surprisingly, people were pretty quiet about politics this year and actually *gasp* focused on the music! (HOORAY!!! FINALLY!!!) so we didn't flaunt it too much, but they were still fun to wear!

Day 262 (September 19)

Dad, Scott, Carrie and I went jammin' in the Pecan Grove. You really have to go and experience the Pecan Grove to fully appreciate it. It's might near impossible to adequately describe it and do it justice. It's unreal. Anyway, here's a pic of us jammin'. We stayed there until 2:00 AM and then headed over to another, much calmer jam session at Carp Camp. I finally went to bed just after 4:00 AM on Saturday night. Typical for Winfield!

Check out the full, real, fox hat on the fiddler below. Dude was CRAZY. Undoubtedly, he was three sheets to the wind and probably high on something else. And I ain't talking about being high on life...

Day 261 (September 18)

This is Bill Wedekind. He's a potter in the crafts area at the Festival. He is blind in addition to not having any hands. He lost his hands AND his sight in the Vietnam war was he was only 18 or 19. He has nubs fashioned out of the bones in his arms and he makes beautiful pottery. It's pretty awesome to watch him! He's been at the festival for several years now and I always look forward to seeing what he's done.

Day 260 (September 17)

It's Winfield!!!! This is one of my most favorite weekends of the entire year. I look forward to it so much and get so sad and depressed when it's over. On Thursday, Josh, Dad and I went with Scott and 5 of his kids (there are 6 total) play on the train tracks and throw rocks off the bridge for a little bit.

This is my dad goofing off with 5 of the Jackson kids right before he knocked them all over :)

Day 259 (September 16)

Here's a picture of the shirts all finished! I rushed home after work and put them together then we dashed out the door to head to Winfield!!
Mine say
1. I miss W.
2. How's that whole "hopey-changey" thing working out for ya?
3. Proud supporter of the tea party movement
4 Right winger (with a wing on the right shoulder)
Dad's say:
1. Gee, I miss "W"
2. Support the tea party movement
3. Joe Wilson was right

Day 258 (September 15)

Dad and I are making t-shirts. This is going on one of his and it will say "Support the Tea Party Movement".

Day 257 (September 14)

We got all our camping stuff out of storage because we're leaving Wednesday for Winfield! Yay!

Day 256 (September 13)

More rain today. I'm seriously loving this!

I went to Walmart later to get a few things and check out what I found...

Fruit Stripe Gum!! Anyone else remember that stuff?!

Day 255 (September 12)

Mom and Dad finally came home! It's nice to have noise in the house again. We also watched several movies with Carrie again since she's still healing up. It's been raining nonstop all weekend so it's been a great "Movie Weekend". I love the rain!

Day 254 (September 11)

Carrie got her wisdom teeth taken out this morning. She did great and is camped out on the couch watching movies. She should be back to herself in no time!

Day 253 (September 10)

Daniel and Emily came by briefly tonight. They went and looked at a house and are going to put in an offer! Yay!

Day 252 (September 9)

Carrie came home from NJ finally!!! We "celebrated" by going to Target since she was having major withdrawals. Horrible picture of us, but oh well.

Day 251 (September 8)

I went rogue in the kitchen while cooking dinner. I wanted to try out a recipe I've had for awhile, but basically had none of the ingredients except for chicken. So, I improvised. A lot. Ok, so I didn't hardly follow the recipe at all. I guess I'll save that for another time. But my concoction came out good, if I do say so myself!

The pic below is of the sauce we poured over the chicken. It was (loosely) some chicken broth, cream, Dijon mustard, rosemary, thyme, and probably something else that I'm forgetting. Yum!

Day 250 (September 7)

We went over to Glenda and Keith's(my aunt and uncle) today for Labor Day. We swam for a bit then ate steaks that Keith grilled. It was his first time to ever grill surprisingly! But they came out good. Then we had Hello Dollies. Oh my goodness. Deliciousness.

Glenda and Keith have a Vietnamese guy from Australia staying with them for a bit so we got to meet him. They met him in Thailand on one of their trips, Keith talked to him about the Lord and he accepted Christ right there. Super cool story. Super cool guy (and totally rad accent!) It was kind of bizarre at first to meet an Asian man who spoke with an Aussie accent! He's really nice though and is going to the seminary.

Anyway, my picture of the day is of the Hello Dollies. Pure yumminess

Day 249 (September 6)

Brenda and I went to see Julie & Julia at the Parks Mall. It was really cute and the food looked amazing!

Day 248 (September 5)

I hung out with Emily at Southlake Town Square which is, by the way, the best place to shop EVER. They have everything plus some. Seriously. Awesome.

Day 247 (September 4)

I have been going insane without a craft room! So, since my mom has little to now fall decor (which I LOVE fall decor) I decided to make a wreath. Juliet wanted to help

Day 246 (September 3)

Daniel and Emily came over for dinner and we watched Across the Universe. Very bizarre movie. It was really good though. Especially if you love the Beatles!

Day 245 (September 2)

Josh started back at school last week. Yay!!! It's going to be tough and a lot of work, but I know he can do it. I'm so proud of him! Here he is being all studious and stuff :)

Day 244 (September 1)

I spent most of the night reading. I'm on book 5 of the Lost Books. Only 1 more to go then I am going to let myself read Green. I can't wait!!

Here's the cover of the one I'm reading now, Lunatic by Ted Dekker.
